Terms & Conditions
Bookings
All bookings must be in writing and preferably by email. Bookings are only finally confirmed when your payment (50% on booking & 50% 6 weeks prior to departure) by bank transfer has been received by the supplier, Butler del Prado. Once we have received your booking and deposit payment, we will, subject to availability, confirm your trip by sending a Booking Confirmation. You must check all documents (including the Booking Confirmation and Invoice) carefully. Please check your confirmation carefully and report any incorrect or incomplete information to us immediately. Please ensure that names are exactly as stated in the relevant passport. We have no responsibility for any errors in any documentation except where an error is made by us. Contact us immediately if any information appears to be incorrect or incomplete as it may not be possible to make changes later. Please note, that unless specified otherwise none of the advertised trip prices published on our website include travel arrangements to the country of the venue, for example flights. Suggested travel arrangements can be recommended for you to choose and book at you convenience.
Payment
In order to confirm your trip the full payment will be required by the specified date. If we do not receive all payments due in full and on time, we will send you an email reminder. If you do not pay all payments due in full within seven days of receiving this reminder, we reserve the right to treat your booking as cancelled by you, and you will lose your deposit/reserved place on the trip. We reserve the right to change prices subject to £/€ exchange rates.
Prices are subject to the current difficulties in Ukraine and may change due to its worldwide impact particularly on fuel and wheat costs.
Cancellations
Butler del Prado operates a non-refund policy unless we cancel a booking due to our failure or the failure of our supplier where you will be re-funded in full or you cancel before August 1st of your shoot season (i.e. if you book for February 2022, 01 August 2021 applies) where a 50% loss of the deposit will apply. Cancellations after this date will result in total loss of the deposit. If you wish to change the date of your booking you may do this subject to availability providing you give 8 weeks notice in writing. As we operate a no refund policy which includes the day being cancelled by you, for reasons beyond our control (i.e. bird flu) or due to bad unsafe weather, we recommend you insure this booking through an insurance company specializing in these policies. In the event that your trip is cancelled due to UK Foreign & Commonwealth Office advice, your own governmental advice or Spanish and/or Moroccan governmental advice with regard to the current Covid 19 pandemic we will either offer you replacement shooting dates when available or refund you your payments in full. Any cancellation by you or any member of your party must be notified in writing us by post/courier at Butler del Prado, Medland Lodge, Cheriton Bishop, Devon, EX6 6HE or by email to ashley@butlerdelprado.com. It will become effective when received us. Should one or more member of a party cancel, it may increase the per person holiday price of those still travelling and you will be liable to pay this increase. All payments you have made to us are non-refundable in the event you cancel your booking. If the reason for your cancellation is covered under the terms of your insurance policy, you may be able to reclaim these costs. If a customer fails to present him/herself at the place of departure at the appointed time we shall be entitled to treat his/her reservation as cancelled without having given the company any notice and the cancellation charges set out above will apply. If a customer reinstates a cancelled booking, this will generally be treated as a new booking and shall at all times be subject to availability.
Risk & Insurance
Butler del Prado accepts no responsibility whatsoever for any accidents or injuries that may occur whilst shooting, except in the case of death or personal injury caused by the negligence of Butler del Prado. You are responsible for providing your own adequate insurance for both shooting and travel. It is your responsibility to have adequate travel insurance. Unforeseen events on your sporting trip can be expensive and we strongly recommend that you take out adequate cover. If you have an existing policy we recommend that you check the level of cancellation cover offered, as this may not be adequate to cover you for the entire cost of your holiday or damages/accidents that may occur. If you choose to travel without adequate insurance cover, we will not be liable for any losses including those to personal possessions howsoever arising, in respect of which insurance cover would otherwise have been available. We strongly recommend you insure your day as due to the financial commitments made prior to the beginning of a season we are unable to offer refunds for days cancelled due to bird flu or Covid-19 restrictions should they re-occur. All members of the party who are shooting with Butler del Prado must also have adequate liability insurance through CCC3, BASC, CLA or similar and provide us with a copy before departure. All clients must fully disclose any medical and/or special dietary requirements prior to departure.
Passports & Visas
A full valid passport is required for all travel outside the UK. Please be aware that some countries require your passport to have at least six months validity from the date on which you end the holiday in that country and it is your responsibility to check this. If you need to renew your passport please be aware that applying for a new passport can be a lengthy affair so leave plenty of time to do so. Should a country refuse you entry Butler del Prado cannot be held responsible. For most destinations, and where applicable, we can assist with visa applications for British Passport holders, Butler del Prado cannot be held responsible in any way should a country refuse your application.
Tips
Your Secretario and loader are €60-€80 each per day depending on your chosen estate and are paid directly by you. Lodge staff and the keeper are at your discretion.
The Bag
Due to the variable factors involved with shooting your chosen bag number cannot be guaranteed and credit will not be given as long as sufficient opportunity has been provided for you to reach your chosen bag number and a minimum shot ratio of 3:1 has been achieved. We run all our days ‘English’ style with the chosen bag number shared amongst the team and not on an individual equal basis unless agreed otherwise. Overage is made available only if first agreed with the shoot captain. Where not indicated as included cartridges are charged at cost at €12 per box of 25.
Shotgun Licenses
All members of the party who are shooting with Butler del Prado must have a valid shotgun license and a European Firearms Permit (if necessary) and provide us with copies before departure.
Force Majeure
Except where otherwise expressly stated in these booking conditions, we regret we cannot accept liability, refund or pay any compensation where the performance or prompt performance of our contractual obligations is prevented or affected by, or you otherwise suffer any damage, loss or expense of any nature as a result of, "force majeure". We will, however, make available to you alternative date(s) for your trip at no extra cost. In these Booking Conditions, "force majeure" means any event which we or the supplier of the service(s) in question could not, even with all due care, foresee or avoid. Such events may include war or threat of war, riot, civil strife, terrorist activity (actual or threatened), industrial dispute, natural or nuclear disaster, adverse weather conditions, fire, significant risks to human health such as the outbreak of serious disease at the travel destination and all similar events outside our control.
In the event that your trip is cancelled due UK Foreign & Commonwealth Office, your own governmental advice or Spanish governmental advice with regard to the current Covid 19 pandemic we will either offer you replacement shooting dates when available or refund you your payments in full.
Website & Advertising
Any information on www.butlerdelprado.com or any other advertising is correct at time of publishing and is subject to change without notice. Butler del Prado do not store financial details nor do we share clients details with any third party without prior permission.
Shooting Declarations for the Client
I, the client, take full responsibility and accept full risk for selecting the activities provided by Butler del Prado and their associated partners and will not take part in any activities that are beyond my level of capability.
I understand that I use all facilities at each estate and take part in activities at my own risk and that I agree to adhere to each estates rules and procedures in order to prevent injury to myself or others.
I am aware of and understand the potential risks associated with shooting sports and I am voluntarily partaking in these activities with knowledge thereof.
I am medically fit enough to take part in the activities I have chosen and will take medical advice if necessary to ensure my safety and that of others around me.
I will inform Butler del Prado of any food and drink allergies that any members of the shooting party may have.
I have appropriate insurance cover for all shooting activities undertaken with Butler del Prado and understand the cancellations policy.
My behaviour will not bring any disrepute to Butler del Prado and its partners.
I know of no reason why I should not be able to operate a firearm.
Your Agreement
These terms and any disputes or claims arising out of or in connection with its subject matter or formation are governed by and construed in accordance with the law of England and Wales. The parties irrevocably agree that the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim that arises out of or in connection with this agreement or its subject matter or formation (including non-contractual disputes or claims).
Butler del Prado operates a zero tolerance policy on unsafe shooting. If a member of the shooting party is deemed to be unsafe the drive will be stopped and he/she will be asked to leave the shoot with no refund.
By making your payment and signing your shooting agreement with Butler del Prado you accept these rules, terms and conditions for you and your shooting party.
Butler del Prado reserves the right to change these terms and conditions without prior notice.
