Alfonso Fabres Jr. in the field at our estate in Salamanca
We believe that partridge shooting in Spain and Morocco is some of the most exhilarating driven sport that you will take part in. With Butler del Prado it is no longer prohibitively expensive and therefore inaccessible for most of us – we offer you affordable partridge shooting at our stunning estates, with guns and guests left wanting for nothing.
Ashley Butler is a passionate shot and keen fisherman. Based in the West Country, he was brought up on a shoot where he was introduced to the beating line at the age of eight. He was hooked and from then on has enjoyed some of the finest shooting and fishing in the UK, Spain & Morocco. He now runs his own shoot in Devon with the same traditions and values he grew up with, providing hospitality and a sporting experience enjoyed by all.
Las Loberuelas - This estate has been in the private ownership of the Madariaga Family for decades and is currently being cared for by Gonzalo Madariaga who has passionately restored this beautiful estate. Thanks to his huge dedication combined with the expert knowledge and experience of his UK partner, Sean Scott, this is an exceptional experience.
Cenicientos - expertly run by Javier López de Carrizosa Mora-Figueroa. He was born in Jerez in southern Spain and as a youngster he accompanied his father to wild partridge shoots on the family estate. Since 2010, Javier has been running his own estate and driven by tradition, a stickler for quality and value for money his estate has become renowned as one of Spain’s best.
Finca Las Ahijaderas de Pedro Llen - Alfonso Fabres Sr. set up the business over 40 years ago and was often the guide for the King of Spain. The estate is now run by his son, Alfonso Fabres Jr, who has a shooting and hunting pedigree that is second to none. Born in 1977 he grew up on the estate and was guiding clients from the age of fifteen. His passion and expertise for these sports ensure that our guests will only experience the very best in Spain. Alfonso’s continued enthusiasm for hunting sees him still personally guiding for the majority of our big game clients.
Finca La Jara - owned by Pedro del Nero and run by Alfonso Casanueva. Only a short hop from Madrid, this sporting estate offers a truly authentic shooting experience provided by two passionate sportsmen. Their continued love for this sport and fervent desire to offer traditional Spanish shooting and hospitality has led to the introduction of this gem of an estate.
Hajal Atlas - This beautiful 3000 hectare estate is found in the heart of the Souus Valley under the watchful eye of the Atlas Mountains. Here, you will be presented with the native Barbary partridge in a landscape like no other. With days from 250-500 birds per day, your shooting day starts with traditional Moroccan hospitality from within a Berber tent beautifully positioned on a plateau surrounded by age-old olive trees. Aperitifs will be served between drives and you’ll enjoy a traditional lunch after the day’s shooting before being transferred back to your luxury riad.
Quite simply, to provide you with a unique sporting experience to treasure and with memories to savour. With Butler del Prado’s unrivalled connections and having shot on some of the finest and most respected estates in Spain & Morocco, we can now offer you cost-effective fixed priced days from previously unavailable estates. With days starting from 200 birds and an array of other services available, we will take care of everything. The larger days are, of course, still available.

“My first Spanish partridge shooting experience and it will stay with me for life! I can honestly say this was one of the most exciting days sport I have ever had! Ash runs the shoot with a true sporting ethos, ensuring his values of driven game shooting are apparent. The lodge and hospitality were as good as you could imagine with fine dining and delicious wines. This is a bucket list experience!”
Tom Adams - Managing Director, British Game Alliance
“Nothing short of exceptional on every level. The quality of service, hospitality and overall 'warmth' extended throughout our trip was second-to-none. The countryside is breathtaking and the additional day trips requested were planned and managed seamlessly. Truly a luxury outfit.”
“This was the best 'out of UK' shooting trip we have been on. The lodge was fantastic - clean and very comfortable with masses of character. The food exceeded our already high expectations. Ash and his team went above and beyond throughout our stay, nothing was too much trouble. The shooting itself was nothing short of epic!! Ash has got it absolutely spot on here and I wouldn't hesitate to highly recommend Butler Del Prado to anyone - well done, and thank you!”
“Faultless on every level. Outstanding shooting and hospitality. Ash, you have now made partridge shooting in Spain better value than shooting in the UK and have created something very special. You have taken the shooting experience to a new level with your casual expertise and attention to detail. Spain is a truly stunning place and the quality of the shooting, the lodge, food, wine and hospitality has made it the first date in my shooting diary for me and the team.”
